Michael Morgan
Michael Morgan, a Georgia native, is serving his 31st year as Organist at Atlanta’s historic Central Presbyterian Church, and also is Seminary Musician at Columbia Theological Seminary. He holds a degree in Organ Performance from Florida State University, a Masters Degree from Atlanta University, and did independent study under composer Richard Purvis at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. Michael serves as Dean of the Atlanta Chapter, AGO; national Treasurer for the Presbyterian Association of Musicians; and is an active member of the Hymn Society of the United States and Canada. Among his interests are hymnology, especially Psalmody, and collecting rare English Bibles and Psalters. His Psalter for Christian Worship, a complete collection of original metrical paraphrases of the Psalms, was published jointly by Witherspoon Press, Columbia Theological Seminary, and the Office of Theology and Worship (PCUSA) in 1999.
