Welcome from the Festival Co-Chairs!

Greetings and welcome to the 2007 Southeastern Organ Festival. We know that you will enjoy exploring the richness and diversity of organ life in Atlanta, Georgia and hope that you will join us for the Region IV AGO convention 17-20 June 2007. New South, New Organs, New Music is the theme for our convention, and we feel strongly that Atlanta will live up to your greatest expectations on all three counts.

Atlanta beckons as a modern city constantly on the move. Ever looking ahead, Atlanta still cherishes its past and offers something for everyone: first-class restaurants, thriving theaters and museums, endless shopping and exciting sports teams and venues.

Atlanta is also a spectacular showcase for the art of organ building! We have a magnificent collection of new instruments and a wonderful array of performers to excite your musical imagination.

Throughout its history, the Atlanta chapter of the AGO has been a champion of new music. True to form, the 2007 Festival will feature commissioned works by some of America's top composers. You won't want to miss the excitement surrounding the unveiling of several new organ and choral compositions! Choral singing is almost a matter of faith in this fair city of ours, and we look forward to sharing with you some of our fine choral ensembles.

Please make plans now to join us 17-20 June 2007 for a fun-filled and exciting week of renewing old friendships, making new ones and re-charging musical batteries. We hope to see you HERE!
Gratefully,
John Brandt and Bruce Neswick, co-chairs
